Using the official AWeber WordPress plugin you can install a sign up form into the sidebar of your WordPress site. However, there may be situations where you may want the sign up form to appear directly on one of your WordPress pages (not in the sidebar). You can do this by adding the javascript snippet code from a form created in your AWeber account to the WordPress page you want the form to appear on.

Step By Step Instructions

  1. First, log into your AWeber account and create a sign up form to place on your WordPress page. After you have created your form you are given multiple options for how you would like to publish your form. Choose the "I Will Install My Form" option. You will then see the "Javascript Snippet" code for your form.

Copy that code and save it in a text file somewhere or keep that page open in a separate window/tab in your browser while you navigate to the backend of your WordPress site. This code will be used to install the form on your site.
  2. Next, go to the dashboard of your WordPress site. In the sidebar of your WordPress dashboard go to "Pages" and from the drop down that appears click on "All Pages."

Note: If you want to add the form to a blog post you will want to go to "Posts" instead of "Pages" to select the blog post that you wish to install the form onto. The process for installing a sign up form on a "Post" is the same as it would be for installing a form onto a "Page."
  3. You will then see the list of all of the pages you have created in WordPress. Hover your mouse over the page you would like to add the form to and click the "Edit" link that appears underneath the page title.

  4. On the next page you will see the WordPress tool for editing your page. Click on the "Text" tab at the top of the editor.

  5. You will then see the HTML code associated with the page you are trying to add the form to. Navigate to the area of the HTML code where you want the form to be placed. Here you will want to paste in the javascript snippet code that you copied in step 1 at the beginning of these instructions.

After the javascript snippet code has been inserted you will want to click on the "Update" button on the right side of the page to publish that change.

Now, if you go back to that page on your WordPress site you will see the sign up form!
